Wecome to my DMM-Driver-Release-Day.
First is the line of Datron 10x1 DMMs. Datron was a UK manufacturer that was first bought by Wavetek, then by Fluke. They were one of the few that offered digital multimeters with resolutions up to 8.5 digits.
This driver supports their DMM product line of the 80s consisting of the 1061 (6.5 digits), 1071 (7.5 digits) and 1081 (8.5 digits) as well as the 1065 non-A (5.5 digits), 1065A (6.5 digits via block averaging filter function) and their line of 10x1 models that were offered with preconfigured options, sold as 10x2.
The command set resembles that of the HP 3456A, it uses an output format similar to that of the Racal-Dana 9000 series counter (also UK made around that era). The command set is very restricted and the instruments themselves have a simple but very intuitive interface with nearly all functions directly available via a dedicated key, which naturally limits the amount of possibilities in comparison to a menu driven aproach or one where you have to enter options via a keypad as it is the case with the HP 3456A. Today, especially the 7.5 and 8.5 digit models are sought after by avid amateurs for their resolving capabilities and their displays are quite a sight (Panaplex!).
Best wishes,
Christian
